Does anyone know where I can download in spreadsheet format a list of all satellite transponder frequencies in use at 28.2E, together with the tv stations on each one, and other technical info?
I'm aware of various sites which do very comprehensive listings but none of them allow you to grab the entire list in one go for manipulation in a spreadsheet. It may well be due to copyright reasons though...

Satellite Communication - Transponders - The subsystem, which provides the connecting link between transmitting and receiving antennas of a satellite is known as Transponder. It is one of the most impo.

- #2I can give you a link to all the ones on the Freesat epg if you want to add the others.

Please do, Graham. Do you know of any channels only on Freesat and not Sky?
Here are the sites I've found so far, which give examples of the sort of information available per transponder, and then for each service:

http://dtvmonitor.co.uk/?tree=282 - #4Men & Movies was the only one when it was on the Freesat home transponder. It's now moved and is on the Sky epg. I guess other examples would be say ITV1-HD if you happen to be a sky user in Scotland or Ireland.

It's only got frequency and polarisation because it's intended for use in identifying multiple recording and viewing possibilities for a Foxsat-hdr using one or two cable connections. - #5Thanks Graham, that's a very useful file. Do you know if the channels tend to stay on the same transponder once they're up and running, or do they move around alot?
Not needing to ever do a rescan of a Sky receiver, we never know what shuffling is going on behind the scenes... - #6Thanks Graham, that's a very useful file. Do you know if the channels tend to stay on the same transponder once they're up and running, or do they move around alot?

The main psb channels rarely move (The BBC carried out a major reshuffle though 18th October last year).
The minor players often shuffle transponders.
If you download this Excel sheet (ignore the macros they are for use with a Foxsat-hdr - have a play by all means ) and look at the third worksheet there's a summary of freesat channel changes.

The list is kept up to date as far as possible.
The arrival of Astra 1N later this year is likely to spark a major reshuffle.
